DYI Dishwasher Detergent

Make your own dishwasher detergent.

UPDATE: We tried it and it left a white residue on all the dishes. We are going back to Method’s pellets. They work fantastically and by splitting them in half the cost isn’t bad either.

Personal Project

Traditions

I love traditions! I tend to find them comforting. I really want to make an effort to build some traditions into our life since we have so few. If my husband had his way, he’d throw away all the Christmas decorations. It just isn’t important to him so it is up to me.

I’ve started reading the Joy of Family Traditions. It is wonderful.

I’m excited to build some in before baby gets big enough to remember. I might just makes some up. I had a boyfriend in high school who grew up thinking that all children hung their underwear on the doorknob for Easter ‘cuz his grandmother said so. As a child, I have fond memories of chasing rainbows in our old blue Subaru. For now, I’ll start with this wonderful homemade advent calendar.

Photo Class: Picture Spring

If I’m honest with myself, one of the things I really miss in my life is creativity aka photography. Since I’m currently set in a holding pattern, I thought I would join this online photo class. It isn’t a big commitment as it is only one photo a day for 30 days and it might make a lovely memory of a transition. I think I may post them here as well.. I find myself really looking forward to it!!

Project

Lemongrass

I’ve been searching everywhere for a lemongrass plant. I hear I may have chosen the wrong season. My next step is to try rooting one from a grocery store. Lucky me, I can cook this recipe with dried lemongrass.Yummm.
